Second Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Jang Miran on Jan. 2 gave pep talks to national team members of both this year's Paris Summer Olympics and Paralympics.

Her ministry on the same day said she visited Jincheon National Training Center in Jincheon-gun County, Chungcheongbuk-do Province, and Korea Paralympic Committee Icheon Training Center in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do Province, to encourage the athletes and staff and inspect their training facilities.

The vice minister first visited the Jincheon center for the regular Olympics to check facilities there like the archery training field and athlete training.

At the Icheon facility, she did the same and encouraged the national wheelchair basketball and wheelchair curling teams.

"This year is when national team athletes and coaches see the fruits of their sweat and effort at this year's Paris Summer Olympics and Paralympics," the official said. "I hope for them to do their best over the remaining 200 days to make the people cheer for Team Korea."

"I'm proud of our national athletes for quietly devoting themselves to training," she added. "The ministry will do all it can to enhance the training environment and offer better treatment for athletes so that they can continuously focus on training."
