A cultural festival later this month will wish for the successful hosting of the Winter Youth Olympics (Gangwon 2024) in Gangwon-do Province slated to open on Jan. 19.
The province's government on Jan. 3 said it will host from Jan. 27-28 the Gangwon 2024 K-Culture Festival in Pyeongchang-gun County and Gangneung.
The two-day festival will feature the nation's cultural content such as K-pop, trot music, modern and traditional dance, taekwondo and fusion gugak (traditional music) for visitors and athletes in both areas during the competition from in and out of the country.
A concert on Jan. 27 from 4 p.m. at Pyeongchang Dome in Daegwallyeong-myeon Township will feature Gangwon Provincial Dance Company, a taekwondo demonstration by the Republic of Korea II Corps, choral music and fusion gugak.
The next day at 4 p.m., K-pop groups such as ZEROBASEONE, BEBE, VIVIZ and Dynamic Duo will perform at Kwandong Hockey Center in Gangneung to heat up the mood for the tournament.
The sale of tickets for the two concerts start on Jan. 10 from 10 a.m. on Ticketlink (www.ticketlink.co.kr). One person can buy up to four tickets each priced at KRW 10,000.
Buyers can also get the value of their ticket prices back as regional product vouchers at the concert site on the event day.
Gangwon-do Gov. Kim Jin Tae said, "Please watch the Winter Youth Olympics in Gangwon-do and cheer for the dreams of youth," urging nationwide interest and support for the tournament.
