This year's National Esports Para Games will run from July 19-21 at Asan Para Sports Center in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do Province.

Debuting last year, the event in its second edition will attract some 250 competitors and staff from the nation's 17 cities and provinces.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for July 19 at the multi-purpose gymnasium of the center. July 20-21 will see qualifiers and the finals of all events at each facility of the center.

The games will have three categories -- PC, console and extended reality (XR) -- and seven events -- League of Legends, FC Online and Kartrider: Drift; console sports including Nintendo Switch Sports (tennis and bowling); and XR sports like indoor rowing and wheelchair racing. Cross country skiing is the newest addition to the interactive sports category.

Individual competitions for each event are organized by the Korean e-Sports Federation for the Differently Abled and the Korea Para Rowing Association and divided into the categories of physical, visual, auditory and intellectual disabilities.

More information is available at the competition's official website: (http://e-sports.koreanpc.kr/).

"Given the strong passion and interest in esports for the disabled seen at the inaugural competition last year, we prepared even more programs this year," Jo Hyunrae, president of the Korea Creative Content Agency, said. "We will keep striving to expand the base of esports for the nation's disabled people so that the public can enjoy esports whether disabled or not."
