Kim Yujin has earned the national team its 13th gold medal at the Paris Summer Olympics, tying Korea's record high set in the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Games.
The lightweight on Aug. 8 won the women's 57-kg final over Nahid Kiyanichandeh of Iran at the Grand Palais in Paris to earn Korea's 13th gold of this Olympics.
Kim won the second gold for her country in taekwondo as Park Taejoon did so on the previous day in the men's 58-kg (flyweight) class.
In her Olympic debut, Kim stood atop the podium as the first Korean woman to win an Olympic taekwondo title since the 2008 Beijing Games.

As of Aug. 9 at 11 a.m. Korean Standard Time, the national team raised its medal count to 28 -- 13 gold, eight silver and seven bronze -- for sixth overall.
Three days before the Paris Games end, Korea on Aug. 11 will hunt for more gold in sports climbing, table tennis, weightlifting, high jump, artistic swimming, diving, golf and breaking.
