Team Korea has won its fifth gold medal of the Paris Summer Paralympics.
Para table tennis player Kim Gi Tae on Sept. 5 beat Chen Po Yen of Taiwan, 3-1, for the men's singles MS11 title at Arena 4 of South Paris Arena.
In the same sport, Seo Su Yeon secured the bronze in the semifinal of the women's singles WS1-2 and Jang Yeongjin did the same in the men's singles MS3. Both lost to Chinese players.
Para table tennis awards the bronze to all competitors in the semifinals instead of holding a third-place playoff.

On the same day, Jeong Howon and Kang Sunhee won the silver in the mixed pair BC3 boccia, giving Korea one gold, three silver and one bronze in the sport in this Paralympics.
As of the eighth day of the Games on Sept. 5 Korean Standard Time, the national team had five gold, eight silver and 13 bronze medals, ranking 17th in the overall standings.
Before the Paralympics ends on Sept. 8, Korea will seek more medals in table tennis, shooting, judo and wheelchair fencing.
