Soccer superstar Son Heung-min is this year's Asian Football Confederation (AFC) International Player of the Year (Men).

The AFC on Oct. 29 held its annual awards at the Grand Peace Hall of Kyung Hee University in Seoul's Dongdaemun-gu District.

This is the fourth time for Son to receive the award, following those in 2015, 2017 and 2019. He is also the only player to win it more than once and the second straight Korean to get the honor following defender Kim Min-jae last year.

Coach Park Youn-jeong led the national under-20 team to a second-round advance at the Women's World Cup in Colombia from Aug. 31 to Sept. 22.

In addition, Park Youn-jeong, head coach of the national women's under-20 team, was named AFC Coach of the Year (Women).

In March, she led Korea to a fourth-place finish at the AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup in Uzbekistan. Last month, her squad advanced to the second round of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Colombia.
