The national short track speedskating team has won the gold medal in the mixed relay at the fourth leg of the 2024-25 International Skating Union's (ISU) Short Track World Tour.
The squad of Park Jiwon, Kim Taesung, Choi Min Jeong and Kim Gilli on Dec. 15 crossed the finish line first with a time of 2:38.036 in the 2,000-m mixed relay final at Mokdong Ice Rink in Seoul's Yangcheon-gu District.
The gold was Korea's first in a World Tour mixed relay in two years since the fourth leg of the tournament's 2022-23 season in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
China took the silver with 2:38.051 and Canada the bronze with 2:38.513.
On Dec. 14, Kim Gilli won her first gold of this competition in the women's 1,000 m with a time of 1:30.884. Earlier in October, she had claimed gold in women's 1,500 m in the World Tour's first leg in Canada.
Korea thus finished this leg of the World Tour with two gold, one silver and four bronze medals.
