Kim Taesung and Kim Gilli won the gold medal in the men's and women's 1,500-meter short track finals at the Torino 2025 FISU World University Winter Games.
The Korean Skating Union announced on Jan. 22 that the Korean men's and women's national teams had achieved an all-podium finish in the short track 1,500-meter final, sweeping gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Kim Gilli on that day secured the first gold medal for the national team with a time of 2:37.614. in the women's short track 1,500-meter final at the winter FISU World University Games in Turin, Italy.
Seo Hwi-min crossed the line in 2:37.985 and Kim Gun-hee in 2:38.302, giving Korea all three medals.
Shortly after, the men’s team followed suit in their 1,500-meter final.
Kim Taesung won the gold medal with a time of 2:27.775, while Lee Donghyun (2:27.948) and Bae Seochan (2:28.087) claimed silver and bronze, respectively.
As of now, Korean has won two golds, three silvers, and three bronzes. The team is aiming for more medals in the upcoming men's and women's 500-meter and mixed relay finals.
