Golfer Kim Sei-young has halted a five-year victory drought with her 13th trophy on the U.S. LPGA Tour.
At Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam-gun County, Jeollanam-do Province, Kim on Oct. 19 shot a five-under 67 with six birdies and one bogey in the fourth round of the BMW Ladies Championship.
She won with a final score of 24-under 264, ahead of runner-up Nasa Hataoka of Japan (20-under 268).
Kim never trailed in the competition in her wire-to-wire win.
Starting the day on the first hole (par four), Kim recorded her first bogey on the third (three) but shot three consecutive birdies on the fifth (four), sixth (five) and seventh (four). She added another birdie on the ninth (four) and continued her stellar play on the back nine, adding birdies on the 14th (four) and 15th (three) for the win.
This was Kim's 13th career win on the LPGA Tour and her first in nearly five years since the Pelican Women's Championship (now the Annika) in November 2020 in Belleair, Florida.
