“The most important growth engine of the creative industries is people. The creativity and ideas from talented individuals is limitless,” said the president. “You need to make an effort to become a talented individual with an interest and a passion for learning other fields, all while deepening your expertise in your area of choice.”

In regard to science and technology ethics, the president said, “Depending on how you use it, science and technology can be either greatly beneficial or threatening for humankind. Apart from pursuing individual interests or personal curiosities, scientists need to have an insight into the times so they can think of issues of common interest that our generation is facing, such as an aging society, climate change and natural disasters.”

President Park encouraged the meeting participants by saying, “I hope you all become talented individuals who take up challenges with courage, overcoming the fear of making mistakes.” She also mentioned the famous Einstein quote, that, “A person who has never made a mistake never tried anything new.”
