The eyes of major Ethiopian media outlets have focused on President Park Geun-hye’s state visit to the nation starting on May 25.

The state-run Ethiopian Herald published an editorial on its front page, as well as President Park’s contribution to the newspaper, on May 25 and 26. The articles focused on the significance of the president’s state visit in terms of bilateral relations and her itinerary during her time in Ethiopia. Both articles called for more comprehensive cooperation between Korea and Ethiopia. The editorial talked about Ethiopia sharing Korea’s knowhow on socio-economic development, and also expressed high hopes for Korea Aid, the Korean government’s new development and cooperation program that will launch in Ethiopia.

On May 25, Addis Zemen, one of the country's major Amharic newspapers, also published a lead story that featured the official welcoming ceremony for President Park Geun-hye given by Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.
