Korea and Kazakhstan have issued a joint declaration to strengthen their bilateral partnership.
On Nov. 10, President Park Geun-hye and Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev held summit talks and agreed to further expand cooperation between the two nations.
The two countries will be celebrating 25 years of diplomatic relations in January 2017. During the talks, the leaders assessed the progress made thus far, and discussed expanding their economic partnership in investments and trade, energy, and infrastructure, as well as in health and welfare. The leaders talked in depth about the North Korean nuclear weapons and missile problem, too.

Cheong Wa Dae stated that the Korea-Kazakhstan joint declaration looks back on the past 25 years of collaborative growth and partnership between the two nations, and provides direction for the next 25 years, so that the two sides can continue to develop a mutual and strategic relationship.
Furthermore, the joint declaration states that, "The two sides share an understanding that Pyongyang's extremely irresponsible acts have negatively affected the international nonproliferation regime, posed a serious threat to peace and security in the region and the world, and undermined the world's efforts to secure a future without nuclear arms."
