The Chinese-language online store Hanshin Food allows Chinese buyers to check, in real time, information about a range of Korean food items that can be exported to mainland China.
It is becoming easier and easier for Chinese buyers to get their hands on information on delicious Korea food products imported into their country, thanks to a newly released online store called Hanshin Food (한신 식품, 韓新 食品).
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs launched Hanshin Food on Nov. 15. It allows Korean food manufacturers and processors to register information about their wares, and the information is then translated into simplified Chinese to reach potential buyers in mainland China. Hanshin Food is available as both a website and as an app.
The
hanshin (한신, 韓新) in the name means "brand-new Korean items." The smartphone-tailored shopping site updates information about food products that have been newly offered on the market and which are ready to go on sale in China, alongside detailed information about each product, all in simplified Chinese.
The site features chat rooms where Chinese buyers can ask questions to the Korean sellers, all in real time.
“We expect this app and website to contribute greatly to Korean food makers being able to expand their business into the Chinese market,” said a representative from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. “We will pull out all the stops to promote a select range of excellent and delicious food products, and sell more of them to our valued Chinese customers through this platform.”
You can download an app for Hanshin Food, or visit the website directly (
