Presidential Chief of Staff Im Jong-seok has given encouragement to Korean soldiers in the Akh Unit, a military training cooperation group, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Dec. 10 and then at the Dong-Myung Unit, Korea’s U.N. peacekeeping force, in Lebanon on Dec. 11.

The visits were made during his four-day visit to the two Middle East countries as a special envoy dispatched by President Moon Jae-in.

The chief of staff listened carefully over a meal to difficulties through which military service personnel may have to go. He then received a briefing on the present conditions and operations of the units. Sharing words of gratitude from President Moon himself for their service, Im presented a wall clock printed with the president’s signature.
