Last month, the Presidential Security Service’s photo website Hyoja-dong Studio (http://open.pss.go.kr/) opened an art contest to commemorate the first anniversary of President Moon Jae-in's inauguration.

The Presidential Security Service received works of art that citizens created using public photographs from Hyoja-dong Studio.

In the first round, 26 works of art were selected. They are now open to the public during the second round of preliminary screening. The winners of the contest will be decided through expert reviews (50 percent) and social media polls (50 percent) at the Presidential Security Service's Facebook profile and at the Hyoja-dong Studio Facebook Profile and Instagram feed. The grand prize will be a set of men's and women’s watches with President Moon Jae-in’s signature, and the "Friendly Security Service" prize will be five sets of men's and women’s watches from the chief of the Presidential Security Service.

Participants in the Hyoja-dong contest come from a wide spectrum of backgrounds, including elementary school students and professional craftsmen alike. The artwork categories, too, were also various. At the Facebook profile of the Presidential Secretary Service, you can see various entries, including cartoons, backpacks, acrylic crafts, woodcuts, T-shirts and tote bags that all use photos of President Moon Jae-in.
