Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon held a meeting with Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejcinovic Buric at the Government Complex Seoul on Oct 24 to talk about ways to strengthen economic ties and discuss recent events leading to peace on the Korean Peninsula.
The Croatian deputy prime minister is on a visit to Korea for talks with the Korean Foreign Minister and the opening ceremony of the Croatian embassy in Seoul.
Prime Minister Lee welcomed developments between the two countries as highlighted by the opening of the Croatian Embassy and the launching of the direct Seoul-Zagreb route in September. “I hope for increased human exchanges and economic cooperation between the two countries in the future.”
Lee mentioned that Korea has advanced skills and experiences in health and medical services, intelligent transportation systems, building infrastructure and energy management. He hoped to partner with Croatia in many joint economic projects, including the integrated transport project in the wider Zagreb area.
“I would like more cooperation and investment from Korea in start-ups, information technology, research and development and the digital economy areas,” said Buric.
“The Korean government is taking the lead in bringing peace to the Korean Peninsula, which is a crucial matter for world peace,” said the Croatian deputy prime minister. “Croatia supports the peace policies on the Korean Peninsula.”
