The 65th annual Memorial Day on June 6 was marked in a ceremony at Daejeon National Cemetery in Daejeon under the theme "We Remember You Under the Name of the Republic of Korea,” with attendees paying tribute to decorated patriots and veterans who gave their lives for the nation.

To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the scale of this year's event was minimized. Among the approximately 300 guests included President Moon Jae-in, Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun, Cabinet members and the family members and relatives of veterans.
