The National Human Resources Development Institute (NHI), in a real-time videoconference with the National Training Academy of Egypt, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation and exchange in human resource development in the public sector.
Signed on Sept. 2, the MOU is Korea's first of its kind with an African country.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will work together in human resource development in the public sector including in education and leadership training for civil servants, establishing an e-learning system, and research and development.
Both sides will also conduct joint projects such as exchanging experiences in human resource development, sharing research results, operating joint programs and hosting exchanges of experts and scholars.
NHI President Park Chun-ran said, ''We will create an opportunity to unsparingly spread Korea's experience in human resource development throughout the African region,'' adding, ''We also hope that this helps expand exchanges between both countries.''
Since signing its first MOU with Colombia's Superior School of Public Administration (ESAP) in October 2010, the NHI has concluded similar accords with 11 other countries including Vietnam, China, France and Russia.
