Temporary flights to China will run from Sept. 17 to allow Korean residents of China stuck in Korea because of COVID-19 to return home, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sept. 14.

Korean Air and Xiamen Airlines of China will operate seven flights from Incheon to Qingdao, Zhengzhou and Xiamen. Each passenger must show polymerase chain reaction test results for the coronavirus conducted within 72 hours before boarding and follow quarantine measures.

Flight schedules for additional flights will also be available on the websites of both airlines and the Korean Embassy in Beijing as soon as they are finalized.

The ministry strongly recommended that passengers check flight schedules ahead of time since things could change due to the COVID-19 situation.

The Incheon-Wuhan route was resumed on Sept. 16 eight months after being suspended in January. T'way Air of Korea will operate one weekly flight on this route with the permission of aviation authorities of the two countries.
