President Moon Jae-in from June 11-13 will attend the summit of the Group of Seven (G7) economies held in Cornwall, the U.K., at the invitation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

After the summit, the president will pay state visits to Austria (June 13-15) and Spain (June 15-17).

First lady Kim Jung-sook will accompany him on his three-country European tour.

Cheong Wa Dae Spokesperson Park Kyung-mee in a briefing on June 9 announced the president's itinerary for his trip.

He will attend three extended sessions at the G7 summit on health, open society and economy, and climate change and the environment. He will share his experiences with the green- and digital-themed Korean New Deal.

President Moon will also hold bilateral summits with the leaders of major countries after the summit.

In Austria, he will hold talks with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen and Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.

Continuing the momentum set by the P4G (Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030) Seoul Summit, President Moon will discuss strengthening partnerships in cooperation in responding to climate change and solidifying collaboration in green recovery in the era after the COVID-19 pandemic and eco-friendly sectors such as electric cars for sustainable development.

He will be the first Korean leader to visit Austria since both countries formed diplomatic ties in 1892.

In Spain, President Moon and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will discuss boosting cooperation for overcoming COVID-19 and in customs and diversifying eco-friendly future industries and economic sectors.

The president's trip to Spain is the first state visit to be hosted by the European nation since the outbreak of the pandemic.
