President Moon Jae-in and first lady Kim Jung-sook on Oct. 28 arrive at Rome Fiumicino International Airport in the Italian capital for the first leg of the his three-nation European tour.

President Moon Jae-in on Oct. 28 arrived in Rome, Italy, to begin his three-nation European trip covering nine days.

He and first lady Kim Jung-sook arrived at Rome Fiumicino International Airport at 4:30 p.m. after a 12-hour flight.

The first part of President Moon's schedule is on Oct. 29, when he has talks with Pope Francis at Roman Curia on solutions to global issues such as boosting peace on the Korean Peninsula, COVID-19 and climate change. This is the president's second visit to Vatican City since October 2018.

President Moon from Oct. 30-31 will attend the summit of the Group of 20 economies in Rome. He will discuss with leaders there methods for international cooperation in inclusive and sustainable recovery and reconstruction. He will also have bilateral meetings with participating leaders.

President Moon will then visit Glasgow, the U.K., to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference from Nov. 1-2.

On Nov. 2, he will pay a state visit to Hungary for three days under the invitation of Hungarian President Janos Ader and return to Korea on Nov. 5.
