The Office of the President for the first time has applied the cutting-edge technology of an artificial intelligence (AI) voice actor to a promotional video for the public.

Yonhap News on March 5 said the office of the presidential secretary for new media under the public relations office of the senior presidential secretary recently produced a video using an AI voice and video production program provided free by a domestic startup.

At the beginning of the video of first lady Kim Keon Hee's visit to Seoul National School for the Blind, an AI voice actor says, "I am the retired guide dog Saeromi. Let me introduce my mother."

The presidential couple on Dec. 24 last year adopted Saeromi.

The presidential office also introduced this event through news slides featuring braille notation under the written text. The translation was made using a braille conversion program developed by a domestic non-profit organization studying information and communications technology for the visually impaired.

Yonhap News said the presidential office over the past month and a half has boosted its public relations activity for the people through production of 19 short YouTube videos of under a minute each and 13 news slides.
