The leader of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will visit Korea late this month.

The Office of the President in Seoul on May 22 said Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will visit from May 28-29 at the invitation of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

Sheikh Mohamed will be the first UAE leader to make a state visit to Korea.

President Yoon and his UAE counterpart in their bilateral summit will discuss boosting cooperation in sectors like economy and investment, energy, national defense and the defense industry, and high-tech sectors. Both will also discuss reinforcing the special strategic partnership between the two sides.

In January last year, President Yoon became the first Korean leader to make a state visit to the UAE. His summit in Abu Dhabi with Sheikh Mohamed attracted pledged investment of USD 30 billion.
