President Lee Jae-myung on June 4 was officially sworn in as the nation's 21st leader at Rotunda Hall of the National Assembly in Seoul's Yeongdeungpo-gu District. The following are photos capturing his visit to Seoul National Cemetery to pay respects as well as his inauguration at the National Assembly.

President Lee on June 4 visits Seoul National Cemetery in Seoul's Dongjak-gu District to pay his respects and lay a wreath accompanied by first lady Kim Hye-gyeong at Memorial Tower before leaving for his inauguration. The tradition is for a head of state to visit the cemetery to honor patriotic martyrs and the spirits of fallen soldiers as the first task of a term to show loyalty as a public servant to the people and country.

Afterward, he went to the hall Sarangjae at the parliamentary building to meet National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik and representatives of the ruling and opposition parties to eat bibimbap (spicy rice with vegetables and meat) for lunch before officially beginning his term.
