President Lee Jae-myung's first executive order issued on June 4 was to launch an emergency economic task force.

His spokesperson Kang Yu-jung told a news briefing, "President Lee spoke about this over the phone with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Ju-Ho, and ordered a meeting of department heads and working-level staff from relevant government branches by 7:30 p.m. today."

President Lee also ordered for the morning of June 5 a working-level conference of the heads of metropolitan and local governments on safety-related issues such as disasters, public safety and accidents.

The key lineup of the Lee administration's Cabinet was also released.

Rep. Kim Min-seok, a four-term lawmaker of the Democratic Park of Korea (DPK), was nominated as prime minister. Fellow Rep. Kang Hoon-shik, a three-term lawmaker from the same party, was appointed presidential chief of staff and former Minister of Unification Lee Jong-seok director of the National Intelligence Service.

President Lee personally announced these appointments at the briefing room of the Office of the President in Seoul's Yongsan-gu District. DPK Rep. Wi Sung-lac, former ambassador to Russia, was named national security adviser, former Republic of Korea Army Gen. Hwang In-kwon head of the Presidential Security Service and DPK lawmaker Kang presidential spokesperson.

"We made the appointments based on loyalty to the people, expertise and competence in their relevant fields as well as understanding of public administrative philosophy," President Lee said. "The focus of the new administration's personnel will keep stressing national unity based on ability."
