The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on July 8 held a briefing on Energy Super Week for foreign embassy staff in Seoul to promote the direction of the government's energy policy.

Held at Hotel President in the capital, the event attracted personnel from 43 embassies including those of the European Union, U.K., Vietnam and Japan.

Energy Super Week will feature the simultaneous hosting of four major events in Busan from Aug. 25-29.

The four are the 15th APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Energy Ministerial Meeting (Aug. 27-28), 16th Clean Energy Ministerial Meeting (Aug. 25-27), 10th Mission Innovation Ministerial Meeting (Aug. 25-27) and World Climate Industry Expo (Aug. 27–29).

Over this period, energy ministers and government officials from about 40 member states and leading figures from global organizations such as the International Energy Agency and the World Bank will discuss policy toward the future direction of energy.

The key agenda of the APEC energy talks includes reinforcement of power grid infrastructure and energy security, stability in power supply and energy innovation using artificial intelligence.
