Free consultations on labor law topics such as wages, working hours and unemployment benefits are now available 24 hours a day to foreign workers in 32 languages.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor on Sept. 5 announced its launch of the service based on artificial intelligence (AI).
The ministry that day unveiled the program at the AX Summit, an event focused on AI's transformation of employment and labor administration, at the social impact space OnDream Society in Seoul's Jung-gu District.
Users can access the service on the ministry's website (https://ai.moel.go.kr) to receive free consultations on labor law anonymously in 32 languages.
In cooperation with the AI service provider Maum.AI, the ministry last year developed a prototype of the counseling technology. In March this year, the system underwent professional review by a team of certified labor attorneys for enhanced accuracy.
Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Young Hoon said, "We will definitely create a workplace where everyone receives respect and is safe."
