The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Korea International Cooperation Agency on Sept. 29 hosted the 18th Seoul ODA (Official Development Assistance) International Conference at Lotte Hotel Seoul in the capital's Jung-gu District, discussing the future directions of global development cooperation.
Under the theme "Calling for Partnership: Catalyzing Financing for Development," the event had participants share partnership-based financing models and along with the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation, they discussed the specific application of the principles of effective development.
"This conference is significant as the international community explored practical measures to implement the Sevilla Commitment," the ministry said. "It also shared partnership-based financing models with the global community and suggested directions for sustainable development cooperation."
Earlier in July, the United Nations' fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4) in Sevilla, Spain, adopted the Sevilla Commitment, which covers aspects of development financing including the global financial system, private funding, world development cooperation and development effectiveness.
