President Lee Jae Myung on April 12 said, "Respect for a country's sovereignty and universal human rights as well as the rejection of wars of aggression are in the spirit of our Constitution and a basic principle of the international community."

He wrote this on his official X account, saying, "Putting oneself in another's shoes applies not only to people but also international relations."

He did not specify as to which issue he was referring to.

"My life and property are as equally valuable as those of others," he said. "You must respect others to earn respect."

"Acts constituting betrayal of the nation take place openly even in politics and the media, whose mission is the pursuit of the public interest, including national interest," he added. "This ultimately is also a national task to take on and overcome together: the task of 'normalizing the abnormal.'"
