Humanitarian assistance worth a combined USD 2.5 million will go to Lebanon and Iran.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Seoul on April 15 announced an additional aid package worth USD 500,000 to Iran through UNICEF in addition to USD 2 million pledged earlier to Lebanon through the United Nations (U.N.) Human Rights Council.

The ministry said the decision on assistance came in response to requests from the international community including the U.N. amid the recent escalation of the humanitarian crisis in the Middle East.

"We hope that our assistance can ease the humanitarian situation in the affected areas," it added.
