President Lee Jae Myung on Oct. 12 received credentials from eight newly appointed foreign ambassadors at a Cheong Wa Dae ceremony.
The eight were Viviane de Pierrefeu Midence of Honduras; Miriam Teresa Mozgan of Slovenia; Espen Frederik Larsen of Norway; Melis Mamadaliev of Kyrgyzstan; Fatou Gaye Ngom of Senegal; Ahmad Erfanian of Iran; Fati Yildiz of Turkiye (Turkey); and Donatas Tamulaitis of Lithuania.
After the event, President Lee welcomed each ambassador in one-on-one meetings and urged them to play "an active role" in raising mutually beneficial cooperation across fields.
They responded by calling cooperation with Korea "truly important" and pledged to do their best to boost bilateral collaboration by leveraging each other's strengths in areas like economy, trade and investment, high-tech industries, the defense sector and culture.
This was the sixth such ceremony hosted by the Lee administration.
