The 2009 Hamyang Wild Ginseng Festival will open at Sanglim Park for four days from July 25 to 29. Wild ginseng, otherwise known as sansam in Korean used to be one of the key export products of the country for centuries. The valley of Hamyang was and still is the famous site for finding a high quality ginseng, frequented by not only locals but foreign residents as well.

Take part in digging ginseng, see the display of ginseng around the world and try some liquor or tea made of ginseng. Also get ready for sansam singing concert, sansam industry symposium, sansam marathon course (10 kilometer course and half course), youth dance contest and other fun activities.
