The Shipbuilding & Sea Festival held in Ulsan, the center of the nation’s shipbuilding industry, is one of the most popular summer celebrations in Korea. The event is held in the neighborhood around Ilsan Beach, a beautiful beach which was named “Best Beach in Korea” three years in a row.

The festival, held under the theme of “Joyful Sea Filled with Dreams and Hopes,” offers a wide range of events including a variety of hands-on experience programs, contests, activities, more. Main events include the Summer Festival (featuring famous singers and other celebrities), creative boat making contest, sand sculpture contest/exhibit, fishing contest, miniature boats craft program, ‘running on water’ event, ice carving demonstration/display, water sports, and a beach volleyball match for internationals.
