The Mindungsan Eulalia Festival takes place in the Mindungsan Mountain area in Gangwon-do Province every fall. The entire mountain looks flat, as if it were an endless, wide plain. Nearly 200,000 square meters of the area, which is 1,118 meters above sea level, is covered with Eulalia flowers (silver grass), creating a beautiful landscape. Mindungsan mountain is one of the five major Eulalia habitats in Korea and its flowers bloom from mid-October to early November. Visitors can climb the mountain, leaving from Jeungsan Elementary School in Jeongseon-gun County, and can reach Batgudeok Village, located 800 meters above sea level by taking the left fork when they reach the junction of two trails in Batgudeok, to observe the silver grass.
Some of the events held during the festival include mountain climbing a singing contest (singing the well-known Korean song, " Arirang"), Eulalia music concerts, a Mindungsan Gate ball competition, horseback riding and an exhibition of photos of the Eulalia flowers.
