Events at KCCs abroad

SeoulTheJourney wants to introduce the amazing annual fireworks that are coming back to Seoul (hopefully in 2022).

In this blog, we will also introduce a major change for entry into Korea – the K-ETA that is essential for people from these countries to apply for before boarding the plane!

The grapevine is full of talk about the return of the Seoul International Fireworks Festival, the 200 million won event.

So, it might well be time to book that flight to Seoul in time for the well-known Seoul International Fireworks Festival (서울세계불꽃축제).

The Seoul International Fireworks start with a fantastic display on the Han River in Han Park (Hangang Park).

Due to COVID-19, the most recent festivals got cancelled.

Nevertheless, there is talk in the town that one is in the pipeworks for 2022!

The event typically attracts around 20,000 visitors at the main event in Yeouido. Not to forget a further 100,000 spread across the Han River and the bridges to take in the view.

SeoulTheJourney doesn’t mean to be showy – we enjoyed the view from the boat just in front of the 63 Building.

We recommend you consider a timely visit to Seoul to enjoy this special event. The first one after so long will no doubt be extra special!

Please be mindful that there will be many people attending this event if it goes ahead – arrive early – the metro will be rammed!

Travel Advisory

As you are about to book that flight to Korea, why not check out the all-important website for the Korea Electronic Travel Authorization that serves 103 countries that can enter Korea without a visa.

The recently introduced Korea Electronical Travel Authorization is a similar process for people visiting the USA, Canada and in 2023, the European Union.

Remember that the K-ETA is NOT a visa and won’t guarantee entry into Korea. That will depend on the lovely Immigration Officer at your port of entry.

K-ETA Process

Remember you must complete the K-ETA at least 72 hours before boarding your flight or ship to Korea.

Entry into Korea due to failing to complete the process is possible.

The K-ETA will be valid for two years from the date of approval. It doesn’t guarantee entry!

The K-ETA will cost you 10,000 KRW – you can make application here. Check out the video below by BlueVisaOverseas.
