Matres International Festival 2022

From 25 to 28 August the cities of Cava de 'Tirreni and Vietri sul Mare hosted the third edition of the Matres Festival which highlights the skills of women in the practice of ceramic art within the international female artistic panorama.

The event was organized by the Pandora association which sets itself the task of enhancing the figure of women and safeguarding the artistic-cultural heritage through various creative experiences, as well as giving support to encourage women to become a growth factor for society.

Matres 2022 was therefore a further occasion where the stories of each woman and their artistic experience were able to come together and confront each other, drawing up proposals to raise awareness of the potential of the female world. A moment also to show the female attitude to express values, projects, personalities and paths linked to contemporaneity, in art, culture and crafts.

The Matres International Festival, now in its third edition, was organized by Pandora Artiste Ceramiste with the patronage of the Korean Cultural Institute in Italy, the Campania Region, the Tunisian Consulate of Naples, in collaboration with the municipalities of Cava de 'Tirreni and Vietri sul Mare, the CNA of Salerno and the Campania Region.

The Festival was also an opportunity for cultures to meet, as 29 other countries were involved in this edition besides South Korea and Italy and, as happened in the previous edition of the Matres Festival, a delegation of 28 potters from the women's ceramic association of the KWCA of South Korea was welcomed in the city for debates, conferences, workshops, cultural meetings with the realities of the territory. Furthermore, the Korean artists have been given the opportunity to participate in a collective exhibition and will be protagonists at the Cavesi companies in the exchange of experiences to encourage and research new development methods and tools with innovative approaches aimed at supporting tradition and culture. . Director Chun Ye Jin was present at the inauguration of the Festival to bring greetings from the Korean Cultural Institute and give support to Korean artists.
