Turkiye Korean Cultural Center (Director : Park Keehoung) held the “K-Literature Talks” event held from November 5th to 9th in cooperation with the Turkish Publishers Association and the Korean Literature Translation Institute in Ankara and Istanbul with great success. Prior to this event, it was announced that the online 'Globalization of K-Literature, Business Matching for Korean and Turkiye Publishing' event was held on October 26-27.
On November 5, 2022, at the 'K-Literature Talks' held in Ankara, Lee Jeong-myeong, the writer of "The Boy who Escaped Paradise" and Lee Ki-ho, writer of "At Least We Can Apologize", invited from Korea, conducted literature talk with readers. After that, They had time to sign autographs for the readers. The event was hosted by Professor Mahmut Ertan Gokmen, Dean of the Department of Korean Language and Literature at Ankara University. And Professor S. Göksel Türközü, Dean of the Department of Asian Languages at Erciyes University, and Mehmet Ölçer, Korean Language and Literature teacher at Erciyes University, participated as translators of the author’s books.
Writer Lee Jeong-myeong said, “It was a great event and it was fun meeting readers in Türkiye. I hope that these events will continue to serve as an opportunity to promote Korean literature.” And writer Lee Kiho said “It is a great honor that my book came out in Turkiye, and it is very pleasant to meet readers like this."
Park Keehoung, director of the Korean Cultural Center, said, “This event, which was held in the context of the globalization of K-literature, will serve as an important opportunity to strengthen the role of the Korean Cultural Center as an overseas marketing window for K-content...”
