The Korean Cultural Center in Turkey (Director: Park Keehoung) held Kimchi Making event at the Hilton Hotel for diplomatic corps from 40 countries on November 23.
First of all, there was a presentation about kimchi, a traditional Korean food. After the presentation, Korean chef Geurim Jung explained about kimchi to the participants and demonstrated how kimchi is prepared.
For guests who had the opportunity to make kimchi, a buffet was also prepared to taste kimchi and various Korean foods at the event.
Keehoung Park, director of the Korean Cultural Center said, “Kimchi, a traditional Korean food, is a fermented food that is effective against cancer, aging, and obesity, and as the culture of making and sharing kimchi is listed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, it is now protected by people all over the world. I hope that the Kimchi Making Event held for diplomatic corps from 40 countries will serve as an opportunity to promote kimchi as Korea’s unique fermented food. "
