The Korean Cultural Center in South Africa held a calligraphy experience event on 2023.1.26 (Thu). This experience event is a link to the Talk Talk Korea 2022 contest, calligraphy award-winning exhibition currently being held in the exhibition room of the Cultural Center, and was designed to provide an opportunity to see the works and experience calligraphy in person.

The event participants enjoyed the calligraphy award-winning works in the exhibition room of the Cultural Center, moved to the cultural lecture room, and interacted with Hyejin Kim, a 7-year-old calligraphy instructor in Korea, in real time via zoom, and made 5 postcards for 2 hours.

A total of 30 people participated in the event, which consisted of drawing lines with a calligraphy-only pen in the form of a brush pen, writing Korean letters, writing letters, and decorating with pictures. It was popular.
▲Event participants happy with their postcards
After the calligraphy experience event, Vimla Frank, a participant, asked where she could learn Korean, saying, “I want to learn Hangeul professionally because the characters are so beautiful.” In the future, the Korean Cultural Center in South Africa will continue to hold various Korean Wave cultural events, such as this event, by communicating closely with the people of the host country to raise interest in Korea and promote Korea's image.
