On January 26, Consul General Euy Whan Kim met with officials from Fort Lee, New Jersey. Chief of Police Matthew J. Hintze, Fort Lee PD Captain Steve No, and City Councilman Paul K. Yoon represented the borough.
Consul General Kim applauded the police department’s ongoing efforts to address the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes. He also highlighted the Korean community’s need for improved language services, more opportunities for Korean American officers, and streamlined communication with the Consulate General. The leaders agreed that cooperation is vital to public safety and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their ties with the Consulate General.
