Events at KCCs abroad

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Korea – Indonesia Diplomatic Relations, the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (Director Sangwon Jung) and Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia Los Angeles presented ‘Teman(친구)’ in the KCCLA Ari Hall (5505 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023.


‘Teman’ (means friends in Indonesian) concert commemorates five decades of strong ties, mutual cooperation, and shared accomplishments between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Indonesia. Two nations celebrate their enduring friendship through cultural exchange.


For this concert, the Indonesian percussion instrument called 'Kolintang' performed, along with the traditional Indonesian dance 'Jaipong,' on stage. Audiences enjoyed the theme song 'Onara' from the beloved Indonesian K-drama 'Dae Jang Geum,' as well as the widely known Indonesian song 'Tanah Airku.' Additionally, from the Korean side, various traditional music performances such as Gayageum Sanjo and Byeongchang, Taepyeongmu, Jindo Bukchum, and Buchaechum performed for the audience. Furthermore, a few collaborative performances between the two countries were featured as well.
