Events at KCCs abroad

Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (Director Sangwon Jung) held a special exhibition Sikgu from June 9th to July 14th at the Korean Cultural Center Art Gallery, commemorating the 120 th year of Korean immigration to the United States.

Sikgu aimed to provide an opportunity to reflect on Korean immigration history, food culture, family, and ourselves with the artworks of two Korean immigrant artists, Sammy Seung-Min Lee and Miran Lim Lee. Upholding traditional techniques, they seek innovation in their approaches and materials. The exhibition was curated by the guest curator, Hyonjeong Kim Han, who is the senior curator of Asian Art at the Denver Art Museum. Around 80 people attended the opening reception of the exhibition including Korean artists and gallerists in LA.
