The Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles (KCCLA) successfully held a commemorative event on April 14th (Friday), 2023 at Ari Hall in celebration of the 120th anniversary of Korean immigration to the United States. The event was organized jointly with USC East Asian Library to mark the publication of collections of works by the first-generation Korean American writer Nak Chung Thun (1876-1953). One of the remarkable book is called " The Righteous Robber (Kujejŏk kangdo, 구제적 강도)."

During the event, Professor Sunyoung Park, associate professor in East Asian Languages and Cultures, USC, and Kenneth Klein, former director of USC’s East Asian Library, introduced the Nak Chung Thun Digital Archive and Korean American Collection at USC. Following that, Professor Jae-moon Hwang from Seoul National University, who edited the Korean edition of the books, made a presentation about the literary significance of Thun's works in Korean literary history.
