Last month, on 29 September, the Korean Cultural Centre in South Africa (KCCSA) hosted a special event to celebrate Korea’s autumn harvest festival, ‘Chuseok.’

Approximately 50 people participated in the event, where they had the opportunity to make 'songpyeon,' Korea's representative holiday rice cake dish traditionally eaten during Chuseok. They also engaged in a variety of traditional Korean games such as Yutnori, Jegichagi, Tuho, and more.

The participants expressed their gratitude saying “we are so happy to experience Chuseok that we only saw in K-dramas. After spending this special holiday together with friends who gathered here with the same love for the Korean culture, I truly feel like we have become family.”
