On August 29, 2023, Consul General Euy Whan Kim gave a special lecture for Korean language teachers from public schools in New York State that offer Korean language programs. The lecture, titled "Why Korea is a Country to be Proud of," focused on the factors that enabled Korea's transformation from one of the poorest countries in the world after the Korean War to its current developed status. Consul General Kim applauded the efforts of these teachers in promoting Korean language and culture at the forefront of education.
