On November 14, 2023, Consul General Euy Whan Kim met with the Korean language faculty at the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY Buffalo) to encourage them and explore ways to promote Korean language education and Korean Studies.

The Department of Linguistics at SUNY Buffalo currently has four Korean language instructors who offer courses across six levels. Annually, between 100 and 150 students enroll in Korean language courses.
