On March 23, 2024, Consul General Euy Whan Kim visited the University of Pittsburgh and met with the university’s senior administration. They discussed expanding Korean studies courses and enhancing collaboration and exchange between the consulate and the university.
Participants from the University of Pittsburgh included Jeff Whitehead, Executive Director of Global Engagement; Hannah Johnson, Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Recruitment; Jim Cook, Director of the Asian Studies Center; Professor Seung-hwan Shin from the Department of East Asian Studies; and Professor Hong Koo Kim, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (Director of the Nanotechnology Center).
Following the meeting, Consul General Kim toured the Korean Heritage Room and the Nanotechnology Center with the university officials.
