On the 26th Oct, the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand screened the Korean film 'Our Season' at TK Park on the 8th floor of Central World Shopping Mall in Bangkok and held a Korean food reception.
This event was jointly hosted by the Korean Embassy in Thailand and KCC as part of the '2024 Contemporary World Film Series' at TK Park, the library of the Office of Knowledge Management and Development of Thailand.
On this day, about 120 important figures including 8 ambassadors from France, Portugal, Turkey, and Vietnam, as well as Watt Chirathivat, Vice President at Ceentral Group of Company, Kantathi Supamongkon, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Thai Beverage Advisor attended this event.
Before the screening, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Mr. PARK Yongmin said, "It is an honor to have the opportunity to enjoy Korean culture with the ambassadors and cultural and artistic figures on this precious weekend," and introduced the film as, "This film is a warm family story based on the soul food of Koreans, home-cooked meals and mother's cooking."
The film 'Our Season' starring actors Kim Hae-sook and Shin Min-a is about a mother and daughter who have not been able to communicate and realize their love for each other through food.
After watching the film, the attendees tasted the Korean food featured in the film, such as Mandu, Tofu kimchi, Japchae, Makgeolli, and Kimbap, and asked about the exact names of each Korean food and how to purchase them, showing great interest in Korean culture.
Lee Sun-ju, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand, said, "Korean culture, including Korean food, is loved around the world through Korean dramas and movies," and added, "I hope this event will lead to more interest in diverse Korean food."
