The Budapest International Documentary Festival (BIDF) will feature the Korean documentary My Missing Aunt by YANG Juyeon in its Festival Program. The screenings will take place on January 26 and 27 in Budapest, followed by a Q&A session.

The events are supported by the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary.

SYNOPSIS:

On a winter night, Juyeon receives a call from her father. In his drunken voice, he leaves strange remarks, “Don’t become like your aunt who committed suicide.” Stunned by the family secret, she starts chasing the traces of her aunt, who resembles her strikingly. Juyeon breaks the suffocating silence and recreates her aunt’s lost voice through animation.
