Littfest 2025, Umeå's international literature festival, is scheduled for March 13–15, 2025. The festival boasts a diverse program featuring prominent authors worldwide, including Korean writers Bora Chung and Sang-Young Park. Additionally, there will be a session with Anton Hur, who translated various works of Korean literature into English. Program with Sang Young Park

- Description: Author Sang Young Park will discuss his novel <Love in the Big City>, which portrays the life of a gay man navigating relationships and solitude in Seoul. The Swedish translation, <Love in the Big City ("Kärlek i Seoul" in Swedish)" vividly depicts queer nightlife and the search for love.

Program with Bora Chung

- Date and Time: March 15, 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM  

- Location: Studion, Umeå Folkets Hus  

- Participants: Bora Chung and Aase Berg  

- Description: Author Bora Chung will discuss her genre-blending work, <Cursed Bunny> which combines elements of magical realism, horror, fantasy, and science fiction to reflect societal absurdities. The Swedish translation of the book introduces her unique storytelling to a broader audience.

Program with Anton Hur

- Date and Time: March 15, 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM  

- Location: Miklagård, Umeå Folkets Hus  

- Participants: Anton Hur and Helena Fagertun  

- Description: Renowned translator Anton Hur, who is celebrated for bringing contemporary Korean literature to an international audience, will discuss the art and challenges of translation with fellow translator Helena Fagertun. Hur has notably translated works by both Bora Chung and Sang Young Park, significantly contributing to their global recognition.

Panel Discussion on Korean Literature: The Korean Wave (DEN KOREANSKA VÅGEN)
